New Years Resolutions: 2016
Happy New Year!
There is a lot of debate about whether making resolutions are a waste of time or not. Personally, I find it a good way to keep all my goals on track. 2015 has gone so quickly. Honestly, I don't know where the time has gone. It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a year, with major highs and lows but somehow I've survived it and came out stronger — I hope!
I've got a good feeling about 2016. It's going to the the year I turn 21, graduate from uni, move in with my boyfriend and, hopefully, find a full time job. With so much going on I've set myself a list of goals that I want to achieve in 2016:
01.Try to be Healthier:
This is something I've been wanting to sort out for a while but my crazy work schedule used to make it difficult. However, now that I've changed job to one that has set shifts I think it'll be a lot easier to keep on top of things. I'm aiming to go to the gym at least twice a week and, if possible, fit in a pilates class once a week too. I really want to start cooking at home more. I'm really bad for eating out or just grabbing a ready meal and this needs to stop! Another thing that I'm really bad for is keeping myself hydrated. So this year, I'm going to try drink a lot more water!
02.Stop Overthinking and Worry Less:
I am a major overthinker and it is definitely something that is starting to hold me back. I constantly worry that I've upset someone or that I am annoying them. It's so draining! So, this year I really want to try and stop worrying so much and just try to enjoy what's happening in the present.
03.Graduate and Get a Job:
This year, I will hopefully graduate from university with a BA Communication Design degree with Honours. After finishing university, I'm hoping I'll be able to get a full time Graphic Design job. If I manage to achieve these two things without too many major meltdowns, I will be pleased to say the least!
04.Learn to Drive:
Whenever I travel home for a couple of days I always think about how much easier it would be if I was able to drive and had a car. Learning to drive is something that is long overdue and it's time I got behind the wheel.
I've been blogging for a few months now and I'm really enjoying it. However, I have been quite sporadic with my posts so this year I want to up my game and blog more regularly. I'm not going to try stick to a schedule because I know there will be weeks where I don't have as much time to spend on my blog because of university. I've already been quite organised with this one as I've wrote a whole list of possible blog posts and saved that away on my laptop for when I need inspiration. I have also decided to introduce two posts that will appear monthly on my blog. The first one is a Design Inspiration post, each month I'm going to share designers and artwork that are inspiring me and my work. And the second is a monthly Instagram Round Up post which does exactly what it says on the tin — a monthly look at my favourite Instagram posts.
So these are my 5 main goals for the year that I hope to achieve. I'm really excited for the year ahead, hopefully it'll be a good one! What are your resolutions?
