Valentine's Night In
**Warning: To all those who hate Valentine's day I'd look away now. Cheesy Valentine's post coming your way!**
Hey guys, just a small, slightly cringey post today. I'm sure you are all very aware of the fact that it was Valentine's day last week. If not, you must be living under a rock or something! This was the first Valentine's that Ross and I have actually managed to spend together because I used to work in a restaurant so getting that night off was out of the question. To be honest, we don't really go all out for Valentine's day as I do believe it is just another way for the card and hospitality industry to make money. So for us Valentine's day normally just consists of a card and a film once I'd finally finish work.
This year though I wanted to make it a bit more special — especially as Ross had been so generous with my birthday. I wanted to show him how thankful I was so I decided I would surprise him with a candlelit dinner. I made his favourite — steak pie with all the trimmings and then we had chocolate strawberries for dessert. It was amazing. I prefered it so much more than going out where you can barely hear one another because the place is so busy. It was nice not to feel rushed. We could just relax and enjoy ourselves. After dinner we just had a chilled night and watched some tv. It was great. This is the sort of Valentine's day I love — spending quality time with my better half.
Did you have a good Valentine's day/night? Do you prefer staying in or going out to celebrate it?
