Vodka Revolution Pizza Launch
Hey guys! What happens when you combine pizza, cocktails and blogging gals? The absolute best way to spend a Sunday afternoon obviously! Vodka Revolution is my go to place when I'm looking for an evening filled with cocktails and good food. So when an email popped in from the PR guru herself, Julia, about an afternoon spent tasting Revolution's new pizza menu I knew I had to go along.
Over the course of the afternoon we got to try all 6 of Revolution's new pizzas. Starting off with the Margherita. Now, I am one of those plain people that actually really likes a Margherita pizza from time to time and this one definitely did not disappoint! It tasted so good! It had the perfect amount of cheesy mozzarella and tangy tomato sauce.
Next, we tried The Italian Hot pizza which had pepperoni, cured ham, roquito peppers, garlic mushrooms, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and rocket. They weren't joking when they called this the Hot Italian — it was really, really spicy!
Then we tried The Beet Goes On which is the vegetarian option of the bunch. This pizza had artichoke puree, goat's cheese, beetroot, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil and parmesan. It doesn't have the tomato sauce base that we are used to which was so interesting to taste!
Next up was the Lamb Baba Ganoush which had ground lamb, baba ganoush, rose harissa, fresh mozzarella, feta, creme fraiche, coriander and pomegranate. This pizza looked absolutely amazing — the pomegranate garnish gave it such a pop of colour! I am not a big fan of lamb but this pizza got a thumbs up from everyone else.
Then we tried the Fresco which had cured ham, feta, kalamata olives, fresh smoked mozzarella, balsamic onions, rocket and olive oil. Cured ham and feta cheese are my absolute favourite so this pizza was right up my street. Topped with the balsamic onions it tasted so good!
Last but not at all least, my favourite, the Asian Satay Chicken Pizza. This pizza was AMAZING! It had pulled chicken, Rev's homemade satay sauce, peppers, mozzarella, cucumber, spring onions, coriander and lime. The satay sauce gave it quite a unique almost sweet taste which I absolutely loved.
Accompanying all of these great pizzas was, of course, a lot of great cocktails! I was being slightly sensible that afternoon as I'd had a boozy one the night before so I just stuck to a mocktail. I went for the Naked Sunset which had mango and passion fruit purees shaken with fresh lime, orange and pineapple juices, topped with lemonade — so refreshing and perfect for a hangover!
If that wasn't enough for a Sunday afternoon, there was the perfect company to go along with all these pizzas and cocktails — the blogging gals! It was great to see everyone and meet some new faces. And I always feel better about taking awkwardly positioned blog photos when I'm surrounded by people who are doing the exact same!
Thank you Julia for the invite and thank you Vodka Revolution for a great afternoon! The new pizza menu launches on Wednesday the 12th of October so get yourself down there for some great tasting pizzas! You can find Vodka Revolution their twitter or at 25 Belmont Street.
